About me
Thirty-five years ago, I began exploring the dynamic relationship between art and writing in an attempt to help my own struggling reader and writer. Over the decades, I have created and honed two innovative, evidence-based approaches to teaching writing and fostering literacy that are easily integrated across the elementary science curriculum. Because pictures serve as a universal language, these methods have proven particularly effective for English Learners and others who struggle with words. Twice federally funded, we have trained over 12,000 teachers across the U.S. and Canada. I am eager to share my discoveries. Ask me about “the magic trick” that excites students of all ages.
